Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for the Canary Islands!

Legend is that the seven land masses protruding from the Atlantic Ocean's surface off the coast of North Africa, which comprise the Canary Islands, are all that is left of the mythical continent of Atlantis described by Plato, Herodotus and Homer, which is perhaps the source of their nickname, "The Fortunate Isles." From west to east, the islands of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote comprise the Canary Islands, and offer every type of climate and terrain, from snowy mountain peaks to volcanic coastlines to sandy beaches to tropical rain forests. The Spanish spoken on these islands is closer to that spoken in the Caribbean than in Spain, the cuisine more Mediterranean than in mainland Spain, and some of the place names date back to the pre-Spanish Guanche culture. The coastal areas are the most populated and built up, with upscale resorts sharing the beachfront with fruit peddlers and crafts merchants, while the inland villages offer many less expensive accommodations in paradisiacal surroundings that have not changed for centuries.

We have organized our listings of the Canary Islands' local hotel accommodations into several geographic areas and alphabetically. You can begin browsing for hotels in the Greater Canary Islands area by selecting one of the links shown below.

·Fuerteventura Island
Hotels located on Fuerteventura Island. This island has the oldest history, the longest beaches of fine sand, and is separated from the African Continent by only a narrow channel. Fuerteventura - Puerto del Rosario Airport (FUE) is located in the capital city of Puerto del Rosario in the central eastern part of the island.
·Lanzarote Island
Hotels located on Lanzarote Island. The landscape of Lanzarote is of volcanic origin. Volcanoes here have been active still in the 18th and 19th century leaving much ashes and lava giving one a feeling of being on the moon. With great effort Lanzarote's people have been able to cultivate this land with fruits and vegetables. In the region of Geria, one may find vineyards located between volcanic craters. Arrecife Airport (ACE) is located at the south central area of the island.
·Tenerife Island
Hotels located on Tenerife Island, the largest island of the archipelago also with varied landscapes including a mountain range with a volcanic crater, Caņadas del Teide, located in its center. One may also enjoy the beautiful steep coasts with wide sandy beaches. Norte Los Rodeos Airport (TFN) is located at the north end of the island and Sur Reina Sofia Airport (TFS) is located on the south end of the island.
·Grand Canary Island
Hotels located on Grand Canary Island, sometimes referred to as The Small Continent due to its varied landscapes, climatical zones and vegetation. Grand Canary offers wide beaches of sand and a fairly constant temperature year-round. Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) is located at the center of the islands east side.
